I just have to show you this custom designed birthday party invitation I made for one of my sweet customers.  She was looking for an invitation for the pancakes and pajamas party she is throwing for her daughter’s 6th birthday.  I already had this pink pajama party invitation in my shop but the colors did not match her turquoise and yellow color scheme.  So I changed the colors on the invitation and designed this yummy stack of pancakes on a turquoise plate topped with maple syrup and a dolop of butter!  I also designed matching party favor stickers with the cute pancakes on them.  I think the whole set turned out great!  And better yet, my customer and her daughter loved them!  They are not in my shop yet but will be soon.  Until then, if you want to order these in turquoise and yellow or any other color combination just contact me and I will help you out.

New! Personalized placemats

I Can Print Placemat

I Can Print Placemat

Have you seen our new personalized placemats?  I am so excited about them especially the activity placemats. The I Can Print placemat is great for keeping your little ones busy during those last few crazy moments when you are trying to pull dinner together.  You can sit them at the table and keep an eye on them while they are busy having fun and learning at the same time. Each letter (big and small) is printed in a dashed font making it easy for your child to trace using a wipeable marker.  Your child will learn each letter and practice writing as well!  The I Can Print placemat is also personalized with your child’s name so they can learn to spell their entire name and even practice writing it. There is also a couple of empty lines to practice writing new words and even a place for your child to be creative and draw a picture of anything their little minds can imagine.  The I Can Write Cursive placemat is perfect for older kids learning to write cursive.

All of our placemats are double sided and laminated with thick plastic making them very durable and easy to clean.  In addition to the I Can Print placemat there are other cute and fun designs to choose from.  Enjoy!

Happy New Year!

Wow! 2011 came and went so quickly and 2012 is already shaping up to be a busy year! I’ve got some big plans for my little company and I hope to start sharing some of my new products and designs soon!

To start the new year off right, I’m working on reorganizing my time, both personal and business.  One thing I seem to spend a lot of time doing is grocery shopping.  I tend to decide what we’re going to have for dinner each day instead of planning in advance. So that means I usually go to the store everyday. I tend to do most of my grocery shopping at Target, partly because the prices are better than most of my local groceries and party because I’m all about one stop shopping. Since I can buy almost anything I want at Target I probably spend way more there than I really should since I go so often.

Starting today I am going to start planning my family’s dinner menu on a weekly basis and then make one large shopping trip.  I’m sure I’ll still make another trip during the week to pick up milk, fresh fruit and vegetables but I’m hoping that overall I will spend less time shopping, less time worrying over what to eat and hopefully less money.

Weekly Meal Planner Free Download

Weekly Meal Planner Free Download

To get myself organized, I designed a weekly menu planner.  I included a space for each day, a space for notes and a place to make your grocery list. I’m sharing my weekly menu planner with you as a free download! Print it out and then sit down with your calendar and mark an x through any days that you don’t need to cook dinner (ie. any days you have dinner plans out of the house). Now you are left with the days you need to cook dinner. Also when deciding what to cook, be sure to factor in any events that might affect the time you have to prepare dinner (ie. kids soccer practice, boyscout meeting or any other late afternoon/early evening activity) as you might need to plan to cook meals for these days in advance or choose a quick and simple meal.  Once you’ve decided on your menu, look over the recipes and write down any ingredients you will need to shop for.  You can either take the entire paper to the store with you or you can easily cut the shopping list off and leave the menu pinned to your fridge.

Here’s another tip: save your weekly menu pages to look at again in the weeks and months to come. Feel free to make notes about the recipes you used like whether or not you like the recipe or where you found the recipe. This will save time in coming up with ideas of what to cook and where to find recipes in the future.

Enjoy!

Hello again!

Hi everyone!
It’s been a while since I last posted. In the past several months our family has moved twice, I’ve redesigned the website and I’ve added lots of new photo card designs to our website. Needless to say, the past few months have been extremely busy!
home - Bugaboo Announcements_1321468040268

In case you haven’t checked out our website lately, it has a new design. I loved the ladybug logo that Lauren at Restored 316 Designs designed for me a couple of years ago so I kept that as well as the color combination she used on my old website but I just changed the design to suit my current style. I love the way it turned out!I’ve had so many requests over the past few years from my customers to see free previews of their proof before they paid for their order so I did one better and added instant previews to my website! I’m thrilled about this new addition and think you will be too! Just upload your photos and add in your own text to preview your card before you finalize your order! Now you won’t have to worry about trying to decide between multiple designs without seeing your photos on them…try out as many designs as you like before you pay! You also don’t have to worry about what if you don’t like your photo on the design…now you get to see it before you pay! And just like always, after you order, I will make any necessary adjustments to your photo (changing to black and white, light and color adjustments, blemish removal, etc) to make sure your announcement or invitation looks great when printed.

When you visit the website you will notice lots of new birth announcement designs! I am absolutely in love with the new collection! Our old designs are not currently available but I will be adding a few of the most popular announcements over the next month or so. I’m also in the middle of designing a new line of photo birthday invitations and hope to add those after the holidays!

I also gave my blog an update to match the style of my new website and hope to post updates a little more often so be sure to join our feed. You can also follow me on facebook or twitter to keep up to date and hear about our specials.

We’re moving!

Well, it’s been a long time since my last post.  I promised to be better at the beginning of the year but the past six months have been absolutely crazy and keeping my blog updated was one resolution I did not keep.  My husband lost his job right after the holidays but we were blessed that he found a good temporary job.  We were even more blessed when a headhunter found his resume on one of the national job search sites and contacted him about a job at a very well known, up and coming company.  We were thrilled when we read the job description because it suited him and his talents to a tee!  It was like they designed the job just for him.  Well, after many long months of phone interviews and on site interviews he was offered the job!  Woohoo!

Were moving!

Were moving!

The only bad news is that we have to move!  To another state!  Well, its not really all that bad.  Although I will miss this home and our friends we are going to be so much closer to family—less than 45 min away!  I’m so excited!  But moving our home means that I will have shut down the Bugaboo Announcements shop temporarily.  I really hate having to close shop but I’m going to try to make it as short as possible.

Lots of changes and new product lines have been in the works for a while but with all this going on in the background I’ve had to put off sharing it all with you.  I’ve been working on a new website for a while and I can’t wait to make it live.  I think you all will be excited about it too!  This temporary closing is probably good timing because when we reopen we will be able to debut the new website and lots of new products so stay tuned!

We move in exactly two weeks so the Bugaboo Announcements shop and etsy shop will be closed starting this Friday, July 8th.  Please sign up for our newsletter to find out when the shop will open again and to hear about all about the new website and great new products.

Have a great summer!

Michelle

Stay tuned for the March giveaway.  I’ll be announcing a new product and giving several away to some lucky readers!  I can’t wait!

We like the idea of personalizing the bottles with a child’s name.  This means no more lost water bottles at school or soccer practice; everyone will know who to return the bottle too.  And since it’s cold and flu season, buy a bottle for each of your children to use.  This will help prevent mixups and spreading of all those cold and flu germs.  And better yet, kids will love using them.  What child doesn’t love to see their name in print!

Are you environmentally friendly?  Our water bottles are great for the environment since they can be used over and over again reducing the number of plastic water bottles going to the landfills.   They’re made of durable aluminum and are safe for your kids because they are BPA free and they come with a leak proof cap to keep the lid clean.

All personalized water bottles will be 15% off until the end of February!

January Giveaway!

Happy New Year!  One of my resolutions for this year is to update my blog more often about products (old and new), sales, giveaways and lots of useful and or just plain fun information.  And this year, I will be starting a monthly giveway where I will feature one product and give a lucky reader a chance to win it.

This month I am featuring our Bugaboo Notes note cards.  There are lots of cute hand illustrated designs to choose from including our green alien, pink cupcake, blue owl and our popular super hero logo. We have designs perfect for babies, children and adults.  Feel free to look around and see all the options available and if you have an idea for a new design, feel free to contact me and I’ll see what I can come up with.  I always love to work on new illustrations!
